Although the heaviest snow has ended, several more inches of snow are expected across large swaths of Maine and New Hampshire, according to the National Weather Service. “Low pressure in the Gulf of Maine will continue to bring accumulating snow through this evening along with gusty northeast winds,” the National Weather Service said. “Winds will also remain gusty and may result in additional downed branches and limbs due to the weight of freshly fallen snow,” the weather service added. Winter storm warnings and advisories have been extended for parts of New England through Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service. “Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing,” the weather service notes.

Chris Sununu said he would support former President Donald Trump’s presidential bid this week, falling in line behind the presumptive Republican nominee after former South Carolina Gov. I’m going to support Donald Trump,” Sununu told WMUR on Thursday. Sununu’s support for Trump follows months of campaigning and being a vocal advocate for Haley, who exited the Republican presidential race on Wednesday following Trump’s dominance on Super Tuesday. Pressed by CNN’s Kaitlan Collins in January if he would support Trump even if he was a convicted felon, the New Hampshire governor answered, “I will support the Republican nominee, absolutely.”“This shouldn’t shock anybody. If you’re a Republican that can’t win Georgia of November ‘24, you have no shot, and he’s proven that,” Sununu said last summer.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Is a New Hampshire primary without the frontrunner on the ballot and no delegates up for grabs still a New Hampshire primary? In the 2020 New Hampshire Democratic primary, write-in votes comprised only 2% of the total vote, or about 6,000 votes. As the number of write-ins for Biden and “Other write-ins” goes up, the number of unprocessed write-ins will go down. A total of 21 Democrats will appear by name on the New Hampshire primary ballot on Tuesday, in addition to the option to vote for a write-in candidate. She received 99% of the write-in votes cast, but the final result wasn’t known for more than two weeks after Election Day.

Nov 17 (Reuters) - Gunfire erupted on Friday in the lobby of a state psychiatric hospital in New Hampshire before the threat was neutralized and the suspect was killed, state police and emergency management officials reported. New Hampshire state police initially had reported "multiple victims" from the shooting, but state police Colonel Mark Hall later told reporters the shooting was confined to the lobby area of the facility and that "all patients are safe." The shooting erupted at about 3:40 p.m. at the New Hampshire State Hospital in Concord, the state capital. The facility is a secure, in-patient psychiatric hospital where all visitors must enter through medal detectors and a police officer is always on duty, according to Manchester-based television station WMUR-TV. CNN —South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott on Monday will formally enter the Republican presidential primary as he seeks to upend a contest that has so far been dominated by coverage of former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. The most prominent Black figure in the Republican Party, Scott will address supporters at his alma mater, Charleston Southern University, in his hometown of North Charleston. In 2010, he became the first Black Republican elected to the US House of Representatives from South Carolina in more than a century. Years later, after being appointed to his Senate seat (he won a special election to retain the seat), Scott made history as the first Black US Senator from his native South Carolina. “We know how dangerous Tea Party extremist Tim Scott is,” South Carolina Democratic Party chair Christale Spain said in a statement.
A lack of homes in Dover, New Hampshire has pushed prices up and made housing unaffordable for many. They are building 44 tiny homes that will cost between $1,000 and $1,200 a month to rent. They shouldn't have to live an hour away and then come serve you every day and then drive home." "A lot of affordable-housing projects are killed because of overhead costs," Maggie Randolph told the Concord Monitor. In Colorado, for example, ski towns like Breckenridge — where the ultrawealthy flocked to amid the pandemic — have gotten so expensive that the government is building housing that its snowplow workers can actually afford.
